Tim Willits to Leave id Software After QuakeCon 2019

Tim Willits recently announced on Twitter that he will be leaving id Software after QuakeCon 2019.

“After 24 years, I’ve decided to leave id Software after QuakeCon,” said Willits. “I’ve been extremely lucky to work with the best people in the industry on truly amazing games. QuakeCon has been an unbelievable part of my journey and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Gaylord Texan.”

He’s not revealing his post-id plan as of yet, but promises to after QuakeCon.

As far as what he’s leaving behind, he tells fans not to worry about the future of their favorite games.

“All of the games currently in development are in very good hands, my departure will not affect any planned releases,” said Willits. “id Software is packed full of amazing talent that will continue to develop (long into the future) some of the best shooters in the world.”

We at QNN are sad to see him go but wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. And although we have to create some fake news out of this, know that it is out of love.

CASTING CALL: QuakeCon 2019

Attention all QuakeCon fans! We are looking for a few good people to help with some filming and photos at QuakeCon 2019.

What we\’re looking for:

One or more people to dress in an orange suit and horse mask to walk around and interact with people for photos and video
- What you need to bring – A button-up, collared, white shirt (short sleeves or long sleeves) Thats\’s it!
- Size – The orange suit we have will fit someone who fits a mens large/xl. Maaaaaaybe 2xl.
One person who knows the dance in the video below. If you are a good dancer but don\’t know this specific dance, that might be OK. We might just film ad lib dancing instead. We\’re filming a music video during QuakeCon and will have a green screen set up to record this if someone knows it and is willing to perform it.
